FAQ
Exterior Plastering questions
How much does exterior plastering cost in Christchurch?
It depends on the wall area, the height and access, the substrate and the finish you want, so we always quote after a site visit. The quote is free and itemised so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Can you plaster over my existing cladding?
Often, yes. Plaster-over-cladding systems can go over suitable sheet substrates, and existing solid plaster can usually be repaired and re-coated. We check the substrate on the site visit and tell you honestly what will and won't work.
How long does an exterior plastering job take?
A typical single-storey home is usually one to two weeks on site, allowing for coats to cure between applications. Larger and multi-storey projects take longer. We give you a realistic programme with your quote.
What's the difference between solid plaster and a plaster cladding system?
Solid plaster is a traditional cement-based render applied in thick coats over a rigid substrate. Modern plaster cladding systems use a lightweight backing board with reinforced base coats and an acrylic finish, which gives a consistent, crack-resistant result. We do both and will recommend the right one for your home.
Do you work outside Christchurch?
Yes. We're based in Canterbury and take on projects across the South Island. Get in touch with the location and we'll let you know.
